Hello, and thank you for your interest in providing content for our YouTube Channel. This post was created to help you upload your videos, answer any technical questions you may have, and provide the rules for video uploads.

Instructions:

• Make sure you meet the requirements.
  
• Record your video.
  
• Go to http://upload.13thmeu.net/ or, if that is giving you trouble, use this alternate address.
  
• You will need the password. Go here and request the password. This is a security precaution to make sure only clan members are uploading.
  
• Upload your video, hit the browse button and choose the file from your computer. Then hit upload. The video must be under 76.8 MB. If it is over that limit, check later in the post for suggestion on how to decrease the size.
  
• Wait for the video to be uploaded and for it to be approved and added to the channel.

Rules:

You can Upload:

• Gameplay (games that the clan play is preferred)
  
• Programs or applications made for the 13th MEU
  
• Other game related content (for example, we could possibly do video reviews or previews, if anyone is interested in putting them together)

You can NOT Upload:

• Porn
  
• Viruses
  
• Anything that is NOT a video file
  
• Video files that have not been exported and therefore can only be opened in the corresponding video editor
  
• Videos of you or other 13th members hacking/ cheating/ glitching online
  
• Content stolen from other video creators, you must have permission from the video creator before you upload if you did not create the video yourself.

Any files that do not follow these rules will be immediately deleted and will not be put up on our channel.

Our clan has people aged 13. So try and keep language as clean as possible in the video. If you have swearing in the video, censoring it would be appreciated.

Do NOT share the password to upload. Anyone who wants the password must request it the normal way, do not ask any other video producers the password and if asked, do not provide it.

Either leave a note in the video that you are the author or private message me the file name of the video you uploaded in order to let me give you proper credit.


Requirements:

In order to upload a video you must meet this criteria:

• Completed Boot Camp and removed from the training group
  
• Own your account for more then a week

Technical Questions:

I understand that you may have longer videos that may exceed the 76.8 MB limit and thus have some tips to get the video to the correct size:

• Compress the video using an archiver such as Winrar or 7zip. This could help cut down on a few MB in some cases.
  
• Render/convert the movie to a different format. AVI files can take up a massive amount of space. Converting it to a WMV may help you stay inside the limit.
  
• Split the video up into multiple parts and upload each part. I can either put the video back together near the time of upload, or upload each of the pieces up to the Channel. That way you can take a 120 MB video, split it in half, and have two 60 MB videos that can be uploaded. After you give me two parts, I upload them privately and use the YouTube video editor to put them back together in one video that I publish for the public to see.

If you are having trouble using the link provided at the top of the screen. Either use the alternate address or switch browser. The first address has issues rendering in Internet Explorer, but in my testing the work fine in both Google Chrome and Firefox.

I have updated the rules. Anyone currently producing videos or hoping to produce videos should look over the changes. I have also added requirements before you can obtain the password and upload videos.

this is a suggestion but maybe changing the password every day is a good way to help from bad uploading

Yes, this is a useful page, I only use my Crusaders Youtube page for longer videos our channel might not want to hold. If there a smaller, quicker & special clips I'll put them up on the 13th YT channel.

Just a notice, but I have found a way to more easily change the password, meaning that we could do a daily password change. The question is, how frequently should we change it? The password has been changed, and anyone using the current password must get the new one.

Also, I added extra security to the upload to ensure that only video files are uploaded.

I think a weekly change is a good idea.

Well, sorry for taking so long. It has been a little while since I have checked the video uploads. After checking it though, I deleted approximately 5 videos that came in a video editor files. Please export your videos into a viewable video format before upload guys.

The rules have been updated as well. Make sure you look over them again to make sure your videos are not deleted for not following the rules.

Also, I have a bunch of videos in there, and not much indication of WHO uploaded them. I will pm everyone who asked for the password if they can give me the video names of what they uploaded a little later, and it would be helpful that if you made a video (that hasn't been uploaded yet) that you could claim it.

Voted. I would change the password every month to make it easier on admins. I know you said you found an easier way but still. If anything happens, cut it down to every other week. Unless you don't want to take that risk, change it everyday. For me, I don't produce a whole lot of videos, maybe when BF3 comes out with the possilbe theater mode, so asking for the password woudn't be too often.
